Production :

Break in the Loop is a game that was made by 8 Game Design students, each having a different role in the project (Document Writer, Sound Designer, Level Designer…) and a class of 3D students, serving as Game Artist for the purposes of this project. It was created in less than 3 weeks.
With the constraint of making a game mixing reality and virtual. Therefore, we had to create different physical elements, in addition to those present in the game (Flyers, Posters, Leaflets…)
After 3 weeks of production, we were able to produce a complete and fully playable video game from start to finish.

Heist at the Friars's Inn

At Friar’s Inn, a clandestine bar located in the Loop district of Chicago, rumors have it that the owner is in cahoots with gangsters who hide their money there, proceeds from the sale of contraband alcohol.
It’s not your first shot for you and your cronies… And no hiding place is good enough to keep you from hitting the jackpot.
Infiltrate the premises, solve the hidden puzzles and come out rich.

Gameplay

Break in the Loop gameplay is divided into two parts:

Inside the VR headset

The player wearing the VR headset aims to search and unearth clues in the rooms he explores in order to progress in the game. He will have to communicate what he sees and the discoveries he makes to other players, while taking into account the clues communicated by the latter in order to find the solution to certain puzzles.

Outiside the VR headset

Players not wearing a helmet have clues in paper format. These clues are essential for solving the various puzzles in the game. Their objective is to transmit their clues to the player wearing the helmet while receiving those in possession of the latter.
